tis the season

Its funny how the holiday season gets earlier and earlier every year . It seems that as quickly as we get Halloween over ,that retailers just want to blow by one of the great truly american holidays . Thanksgiving is getting a raw deal these days. Admittedly the history of our country is plauged with falsehood and propaganda. But the celebration of thankgiving was started by people who were gratefull for the kindness of what the Lord had provided them though the relations they had with the native americans . They were put here on a clean slate sort of .I like thanksgiving because its the holiday not about blatant commercialism but about family getting together to share a meal, a laugh , maybe a hunt, games ,and yes things that they are truly thankful for . This time last year ,i was living a lie .I was a man who for various reasons had put himself in a situation were he was living two different lives .One that looked good to everyone around him ,the other life was not the upstanding christian man that most people thought they knew . I am thankfull that I have been restored and renewed in my life . I don't know that i will ever be a traditional christian ,but i do know and recognize that without my faith i am nothing .I am thankful for my family ,we are salt of the earth people .I am thankfull for the friends i have .I am thankful to live in our country the United States of America . I am thankful to be alive . This thanksgiving take time to consider things you are thankful of ,you just might find that you have a brighter and more happy holiday season .God Bless
